Fifteen years ago, Joel had a traumatic experience as a youth pastor, and turned his back on God. He convinced himself that he didn’t need God or Christianity. When his wife, Hannah, finds herself unexpectedly expecting, and in the middle of a high risk pregnancy at that, she begins to soften her hard towards God.

Forsaking the Call was a great story, that flowed well. I couldn’t put it down! I found myself wanting to know what was going to happen next and before I knew it, I had read the whole book in less than 24 hours! The characters are realistic, the story-line is unfortunately all too realistic, but it is filled with hope and promise.

I would recommend Forsaking the Call to anyone!

I went to school with the author and did not tell her that I bought her book before I read it. I didn’t want to have to tell her if I didn’t like it, but that was not the case at all. This book is about Joel and Hannah and the problems they face with a difficult pregnancy without God to look to. Their best friends are devoted Christians and try to help Joel and Hannah by opening them up to God. This book is a good read and flows well. You care about the characters and what happens to them. I would recommend this book to anyone, whether you are strong Christians or not sure where you stand. This is Lynn’s first published work and I am anxiously awaiting future books.
